God has blessed me with the opportunity to serve Him in Northeast Brasil this summer for two months with missionaries Jim and Julie Leonard. Three years ago I took a similar trip down there, and I am excited for the privilege to partake in this ministry again.
During my time there, I will have opportunities to preach in various churches; help host and speak at a couple youth retreats with kids from the Leonards’ church; participate in a week-long music seminar for local churches; visit some church plants that I was introduced to in 2013; and attend and contribute in one of the college classes that Pastor Jim is teaching at Cariri Baptist Seminary. I am also looking forward to attending the state association meetings for the Baptist churches in Ceara and learning more about their collective ministry as a family of churches in that region of the country.Another reason I am excited is that I will be doing this ministry together with my sister Jamie. This will be her first opportunity to travel outside the United States, and we are eager to serve and grow together this summer. I want to invite you to pray for Jamie and

I want to invite you to pray for Jamie and I as we serve in Brasil. By praying for us you will also be an extremely significant part of our ministry! You can praise God and pray in the following ways:
1. Praises – First, thank God for the privilege He has given us to serve in this way this summer. There are many other things we could be doing, but we know this is exactly what God has planned for us. Second, praise the Lord that He is going to provide the $2,200 that I need for this ministry. This amount will cover all my traveling and living expenses for all of July and August. I do not yet know the means by which God will provide the whole amount, but I know He will, and I am excited to see how He chooses to do it! Finally, thank God for the ways that He will stretch me and change me.
2. Prayer – You can pray that I would be open to those lessons that God has prepared for me, and that I would eagerly accept any challenges that He brings along my way. Second, pray that I would be diligent in the ministry opportunities God provides down there, always seeking to love God first and others as myself.
Thanks for listening, and I hope to hear from you soon if you’re willing to pray!
